  3. You can have a look here as well: Introduction to Opusmodus (level 1) - Composer Workshop WWW.COMPOSERWORKSHOP.COM This course is an introduction to Opusmodus, going from interface discovery to music composition using the powerful functions of this incredible music composition environment. <h3>Who this course is for</h3> This course is for people who want to learn algorithmic music composition and generative music techniques. 4. I don't know why it's so complicated I don't know where to start but I'm amazed at what those who use it do. 30 days for the demo version is too little, is there a video where you start a project from scratch?

  6. From time to time you need to open SC app and stop and restart all servers again. You need to do that before starting OM.
  7. Update: after replacing the cl.collider.lisp file text and replacing it with the text below, I have now managed to open OM without the cl-collider error I was previously getting (no idea why this has done the trick)... However, now the server will not boot... SC in the Applications folder as it should be. Any ideas? (in-package :om) (load-cl-collider) (in-package :sc) (defparameter *my-server-options* (make-server-options :num-output-bus 32 :block-size 32)) (setf *s* (make-external-server "localhost" :port 4444 :server-options *my-server-options*)) (server-boot *s*) (setf *synth-definition-mode* :load)
  8. I appear to be now unable to load cl-collider due to a problem with cl-patterns. On starting OM, I get the following error message pop-up: Error: While loading file Users/acr/Opusmodus/User Source/Extensions/Load CL-Collider.lisp Package CL-PATTERNS not found If I try to evaluate (load cl-collider) directly from the file I get the same error in the Listener initially, but then if I use the debugger to trace I get the following error: Error: compile-file-error while compiling #<asdf/lisp-action:cl-source-file "cl-patterns" "backend"> I have previously managed to load cl-collider successfully and connect to SC Server without any problems - so not sure why this is now happening? Advice and suggestions? I am running most recent updated OM Version 3.0.29319 bw Andrew
  9. In this video we explore the Counterpoint function, and I show you how to create a Drum and Bass (DnB) track, all in Opusmodus.

  11. Hi Cliff, You will find attached here the Opusmodus score for that piece. Opusmodus was driving VCVRack2 with many modules and also proprietary synths (like Dawesome Myth, Kult, Reaktor...) so I can'really share the VCVRack because many paying modules and synths, but you can study the score and see if you find something interesting. Best Stephane Silent Transformation 1.opmo
  12. Interesting piece, can you share the process of composition and Sound creation?
  13. thank you stephane! there is not much difference between Dorian and Lydian modes, because they are the same notes in D minor 7 Dorian you have Fmaj7 Lydian, you get D minor 6/9/13 in a way. I dream of a simple example like: II V I or III VI II V I or I VI II V I or I IV VII III VI II V I etc etc in terms of rhythm, eighth notes remain for me the best example for hearing harmonic movements.

  15. thank you stephane, I suppose this function is only in version 3?
  16. In this new series I will focus each time on a specific function. This first episode show a short piano piece using the new function ADD-INTERVAL-OMN. This is not and extensive course but more a showcase of OM functions to invite you to experiment and explore more with our favorite tool.
  17. I will keep your translation work in French preciously, especially if I switch to version 3! because currently there is no French translation planned!;-)
  18. OM is a great learning device. It also has great PCS support. I learned that the equivalent of functions in tonal music is similarity in atonal music. Is there in OM a system function to calculate the similarity as demonstrated here? PC-set similarity calculator - Michael Norris, Composer WWW.MICHAELNORRIS.INFO v1.0 ©2014 Michael NorrisThis Javascript allows you to calculate the similarity functions between a list of different set-classes. It uses a number of similarity functions that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Most of the them have
  19. Good, you found it. That's good because it is old files and I didn't want to search in my old hard drives backups
