MikeMossey Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 I wrote my own score processing program that converts MusicXML to MIDI playback. I mainly use it for Pianoteq and I discovered a long time ago that MIDI piano legato sounds much more natural when you overlap the notes by 50 to 100 ms. In fact that removes a lot of the mechanical sound of MIDI altogether. My own program is quite limited, especially with sample libraries, so I want to switch over to Opusmodus. I'm wondering if there is some way to get it to perform legato like this. While I'm asking that, I'm aware that EastWest Orchestra Gold has a "legato mode" in which notes that overlap are performed as a monophonic line with a legato connection, so maybe Opusmodus can already do that too.
