Generate gestures through midi input

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

completely newbie in this field and very eager to learn!

I've just watched and replicated the steps from  Stephane Boussuge's video "Import Midi from Logic" to import some midi files. What I would like now is to generate variation from the input rhythm, pitch, figures, gestures given and decide locally how many of x figures and their permutations. Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Best,

André Hencleeday

One of the most interesting features of Opusmodus is the Unfold function. Within this function you can define many ways to vary your starting material. Of course you will have to learn what each function can do, like pitch transpose, length, etc. But once you figure it out there are many possibilities.

The DEF-UNFOLD-SET and UNFOLD function opens up a whole new set of possibilities for the composer using OPUSMODUS. It can prove a very powerful tool in defining methods (functions) from the outset, for a specific work or as a global index of your most used functions. To be able to store methods, processes and solutions and call them at anytime becomes a valuable resource for a composers workflow. This function is a companion to the DEF-UNFOLD-SET function.
