Tonal and Modal Pitch Remapping in Opusmodus

This course explores practical techniques for transforming musical material using tonal and modal harmonic structures.

The course covers:

• generating harmonic progressions programmatically

• tonal and modal harmonic planning

• voice-leading strategies using closest-path, relative-closest-path, and comparative-closest-path

• harmonic transformation of existing musical material with tonality-map

• preserving harmonic structure using harmonic-path

The workflow demonstrates how atonal or algorithmically generated material can be reshaped into coherent tonal or modal harmonic environments, which can be particularly useful for media composition and rapid harmonic exploration.
