I asked this a year or two ago but I think it would be nice to be able to host basic AU and/or VST plugins for sound generation directly in OM.

An example of this, that I have been using in standalone mode is RapidComposer.

Overall it's a basic version of OM with a more extensive GUI.

It does however, host VST's making it very convenient to write in one environment without having to route midi and saving multiple documents per Project.

Yes please.

This would imply creating an audio mixer and potentially an audio/MIDI timeline interface.

Each of us uses or has some kind of DAW installed on our computers.

I don’t see any advantage in spending resources to develop something that is already widely available.

A good practice is to create a template of the instrument you use for your compositional work.

I personally use Vienna Ensemble Pro for scoring or auditioning snippets.
