Posted June 4, 20241 yr I'd like to convert a .wav of birdsong into OMN or Midi if possible and wondering if there's anything in Opusmodus that could help with that? I was looking at the OpusModus "Speaking Piano" example on Youtube and have been experimenting with using the SPEAR library in combination with OM spectral function and my birdsong audio, in a similar way as the "Speaking Piano". But I think I'm more interested in a tool that could transcribe birdsong to a monophonic Flute line in OMN or Midi for example ( rather than dense sequences of chords ).
June 5, 20241 yr For this job, I would rather use Sonic Visualizer to display the pitches. Download Sonic Visualiser WWW.SONICVISUALISER.ORG Sonic Visualiser is a program for viewing and analysing the contents of music audio files.
June 5, 20241 yr One could also try Melodyne to transcribe the birdsong to MIDI and sonnify it that way.
June 5, 20241 yr Author Thanks, will have a look at those. I think the challenge would be to capture the pitch bend/glissando, trills and possibly microtonal content in notation.
