Andy
I think I am correct in saying there can be only one def-score per Composer document? Is that correct? Thanks
opmo
You can have as many DEF-SCORE instances you like, all depends on the structure of your composition. There are no rules or restrictions here.
Andy
Ah OK in that case I need help because when I evaluate a Composer document with multiple def-score's in it, it will always evaluate the last one in the document. If I have a def-score higher up, I cannot evaluate that one. To evaluate a def-score... it does not involve highlighting the parentheses so how does OM decide which one to evaluate? Thanks. opmo
Each DEF-SCORE instance is a score. If you have two DEF-SCORE instances then it means you have two scores in one file. Example: (def-score score1 (:key-signature 'atonal :time-signature '(4 4) :tempo 120) (ins :omn '(s c5 d5 e5 f5 g5 a5 b5) :channel 1 :sound 'gm :program 0)) (def-score score2 (:key-signature 'atonal :time-signature '(4 4) :tempo 120) (ins :omn '(e c4 d4 e4 f4 g4 a4 b4) :channel 1 :sound 'gm :program 0)) ;;; Midi Player ;(display-midi 'score1) ;(display-midi 'score2) ;;; Notation ;(display-musicxml 'score1) ;(display-musicxml 'score2)
Andy
If I use Menu> Evaluate and Audition and Notation on your code..it will always act on the second score, score2. How do I do that to the first score in your example? Thanks
opmo
This is not how "Evaluate and Audition and Notation" works. This is why each score has its own file.
Andy
So I can have multiple def-scores in a file, but only one of them will be acted upon by "Evaluate and Audition and Notation"..always the last one?
opmo
Yes, the last expression (evaluation) will display.
